“Over the County.”

Cass Station.

Cass has another inhabitant who came to gladden the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cox Monday morning last.  We welcome the little boy in our midst, and his life be one of pleasure and happiness to his parents.

“Over the County.”

Kingston.

The alarm of fire was given by the ringing of the church bells at 11:30 Saturday night, and was soon located as the house of Ada Davis, colored, near the colored Baptist church.  The colored people were having a concert in the academy for the benefit of the church and Ada and all her children were at the concert and after the fire was discovered it was so far advanced that nothing could be saved.  Her house was well furnished, a good organ, sewing machine, with all her furniture, was burned, a very sad loss.  She is a very worthy colored woman.  I do hope our people will come to her relief.
