A young lady of Harris county, Ga., Miss Carrie A. Benning, has in cultivation about five acres of cotton, which is the best in the neighborhood, there being plenty of bolls on it the 20th of June. Miss Carrie planted and worked the cotton herself, except one ploughing, and it is believed she will realize three or four bales from the patch. Miss Benning was wealthy before the war, but now she sees the situation and is not afraid of it. |
