HISTORY OF CHEROKEE COUNTY.  –We propose to write and publish, in the Standard and Express, as soon as is practicable, a series of short articles, containing a brief history of Cherokee county, including biographical sketches of its oldest and most prominent citizens.  Having been a resident of the county for more than a third of a century, we think we are in possession of facts and incidents, and that we have facilities for obtaining information from other sources also, upon the subject, which will be interesting to many of our readers and old friends.  We request our friends to collect and put into our hands such facts and incidents which relate to our past history, together with information in regard to the principal actors, as will assist us in our pleasant task.
