Second Lieut. Oscar J. Brown, First U. S. Cavalry, of Cassville, Ga., has been assigned to duty with Company I, and is stationed at Camp Harney, Oregon.  The headquarters of the regiment, however, are at Fort Walla, Washington, Territory.

Mr. James Smiley, a veteran of the war of 1812, lives in Tatnall county.  He is ninety nine years old.
