[This is an excerpt from a longer article.]….Macedonia church is the only Primitive Baptist church in the county.  It is situated in the Abernathy settlement and the membership is made up largely of the Abernathy family, a debt-paying, honorable God-fearing people who are among the pioneers of the county and claim a strain of Pocahontas blood in their veins.
