Thanksgiving Dinner.
Notable Family Gathering at Home of Mr. Hitchcock, near Taylorsville.

At the home of Mr. B. H. Hitchcock, two and a half miles north of Taylorsville, there was a notable gathering last Thursday (Thanksgiving day.)  The occasion was an assembling of the relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock, who have for years happily shared together the pleasures and the trials that have come their way and were doubtless desirous of showing in some demonstrative manner their thanks for the blessings which had been theirs for the years that are gone.

Mr. Hitchcock is now a prosperous farmer, much beloved, as is also his good wife, by all his neighbors.  He has followed the lumber business, however, for years past, and which business his business sagacity turned to material advantage.

A Thanksgiving dinner with the proverbial fat gobbler as a basis was the feature of the day and those who were permitted to enjoy it say they had not partaken of such a spread in many a day.

Among those present outside the occupants of the home were: D. R. Simmerville and family, Rockmart; W. M. Trippe and wife, Taylorsville; J. S. Edwards and family, Taylorsville; T. W. Taylor and family, Euharlee; A. O. H. Davis and family, Taylorsville; B. J. Davis and family, Taylorsville; Mrs. Simmerville, Taylorsville, and her son from Rome; Mr. Jones and family, Taylorsville.

In the afternoon, Mr. J. A. Morris, the photographer, of this city, made some pretty views of the home and a group picture of the gathering.
