“Social Affairs.” Mrs. Kate Postell, now of Decatur, Ala., will, early in February go to Tuscaloosa, to attend the marriage of her niece, Miss Moody, to Mr. Plowman, nephew of Betsey Hamilton. From there she will go to Washington to visit her sister, Mrs. Passe, and will remain to the Inauguration and attend the Inaugural ball. Mrs. Postell writes me of two marriages that are of interest to Cartersville. Miss Dixie Coweherd is married. She is pleasantly remembered as the sister of Mrs. W. D. Johnson from Virginia. The other marriage is that of Miss Minnie Young. Her husband is a Presbyterian elder and lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Her sister, Miss Fannie is still at Chicord college and is known as Professor Frances Young. These two young women have many warm friends here. |
