Seventeenth District.

Taylorsville can boast of a second Methuselah, in the person of Madison Stephens, who claims to be 117 years of age.

A Discovery.

It remains for Bartow county to claim the honor (?) of possessing the veritable Grandfather’s clock.  There is at Mountcastle’s shop a clock which was bought by Maj. Willis Benham, father of Dr. W. I. Benham, in the year 1815 and has been in the family ever since.  After taking a run of about 50 years, in 1867, it got a little cranky and Billie Mountcastle fixed it up.  It then took another jaunt of twelve years and was brought in the other day for Billie’s doctoring again.  The old fellow is all right now and we suppose has started out for another tramp of, well, say about a hundred years.
