DEATH of an Old MARE.

Died at the farm of her owner, Mr. G. H. Waring, Spring Bank, Bartow county, Ga., on Nov. 17th, 1879, Morgan mare, “Rosalie,” aged 34 years.  She was sired by Vermont Black Hawk; born in Vermont.  She was the mother of twelve colts, the youngest 2 ½ years.  The Yankees boast of the age of their horses.  We know of no horse attaining the age of 34 in Georgia.  This one has taken over $1000 in prizes since the war.  She has been driven to a buggy within the past month and on the night before her death, when she came from the pasture held her head as high as ever and trotted home.
