It’s a boy; fighting weight, ten pounds, and his name is Alfred D. Gilbert, Jr.

A Bartow Texan at His Old Home.

We had a very pleasant and interesting call from Mr. Robert O. E. Henderson, of Breckenridge, Stephens county, Texas, on Tuesday morning. He has been here for two or three weeks visiting his aged mother and other relatives. Mr. Henderson was the first white child ever born in this county. He is now fifty years old, and his mother eighty-two, and as lively as a woman of forty. Mr. Henderson gave a glowing account of Texas, but he says old Bartow is a great county, and still feels an attachment for the old county. He and his wife, who accompanies him, will return to their far distant home, more than a thousand miles toward sunset, in a few days. They have had a pleasant visit and we trust they will also have a safe return to their home.
